What is a DOT physical?
Federal law requires drivers of commercial motor vehicles to receive regular physical examinations. DOT physicals are highly regulated for the drivers’ safety. They detect physical, mental, and emotional issues that can affect a driver’s ability to safely drive a commercial vehicle. Dr. Justin Paeltz is a certified medical examiner through the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. He has passed the appropriate classes and tests to perform these physical exams, his NRCME number is 2510355285. He is specially trained to understand the regulations and prevent drivers from being inappropriately disqualified.

I’m a driver. What should I expect for my physical?
The cost of a truck driver physical is $75.00.
The doctor will perform an examination that includes:
- A health history review.
- A thorough physical exam.
- A urine sample to rule out uncontrolled diabetes and other conditions.
A yearly clearance letter may be required from your treating provider for any chronic conditions like heart disease or diabetes. A list of exam requirements for common conditions may be found here.
Once all DOT physical requirements are met, you will be issued a CDL medical card.
What about my pre-employment drug screening?
At Expressions Chiropractic we also offer drug screenings to satisfy pre-employment and random drug screening requests. We utilize only the most professional laboratories to ensure fast and quality results while following federal DOT regulations.
